Learn through multi-media, lectures and on-site visits to strawbale houses in construction. 7 lecture classes include history, construction techniques, moisture and system concerns, and building codes. Topics of discussion include passive solar and bioclimatic design, embodied energy, using recycled materials and an agricultural waste product as a more environmentally friendly, acoustically sound, thermally beneficial building material.
