our story

Saturday - Day 1

5 days and 5 students x 5 hours of work. Lecture on thermal mass and earth buildings in the morning and view "From the Ground Up, video on earthship construction after lunch. Caelum, Tracy and the crew finish digging the 14' diameter hole at 3'-6" deep (due to the god forsaken boulders found at about the 2' level) and pad to pour the concrete after the other students have gone. Takes 6 people 2 hour to finish.  Mutiny is lingering over the camp, the students, 3 of the 5, have all declared had they known that we were going to excavate that much dirt with shovels they would not have come. This is what a long days work looks like     tracy
